Formulations

All the remedies on offer have been developed, tried and tested in clinical practice. The remedies are designed to suit the majority of people suffering from the conditions described. However we are all individuals and all have different temperaments and constitutions and therefore each will respond differently. If a remedy does not appear to suit you or does not have the desired effect, please do not hesitate to contact us for further advice.

Quality

At Herbs 4 Healing we believe that quality is paramount. We use organically grown or wild harvested herbs wherever possible, firstly, because we believe that these have more vitality and healing properties than commercially grown varieties and, secondly, because agrochemicals may be damaging to health and their use contributes to the degradation of the earth. And, because we care for our planet, we ensure that all our wild herbs are harvested in a sustainable manner, so that they will be available for generations to come. Where particular herbs are not available from organic or wild-crafted origins, we use conventionally grown materials of the highest quality available.

We ensure that the herbs have been harvested at the optimum stage in their growth cycle and are prepared in a way that best preserves their qualities. Our tinctures are high potency, full spectrum extracts. We never use standardised extracts, as this may upset the delicate balance of plant chemicals.

All our capsules are 100% vegan and contain 100% herbal material. We do not add bulk fillers or any other non-active ingredients, even though this would reduce production costs.

All our products are free from chemical preservatives, artificial colouring and flavourings.

Our business decisions reflect our commitment to caring for our planet and conducting our business in an ethical manner.  We endeavour to use recycled and recyclable products and to minimise paper waste wherever possible without compromising quality. We do not send promotional literature unless requested to do so and we attempt to obtain all our supplies from companies with a similar ethos. We are proud of our investment in this endeavour and know that it is only through commitment that we preserve these precious resources for those who will follow us.

Type of Products

Tinctures

These are herbs preserved in alcohol, typically 1:1.33 or 1:2 (herb to alcohol) for fresh tinctured herbs and between 1:2 and 1:5 for tinctures made from dried plant material. Tinctures have a long shelf life and contain all the plant’s active ingredients in a readily assimilable form. Simply add the required dose to a glass of water and drink. Tinctures are available in PET or glass 100 ml bottles or 200 ml PET bottle. PET is a fully recyclable plastic, which is leach-proof and therefore safe for use with tinctures. It is robust (can be dropped) and light, which makes it excellent for mail order. It also has environmental benefits, saving up to 25% on carbon emissions on first use, as opposed to glass, and more if recycled. Each bottle comes with a handy measuring beaker. Glass bottles come with an internal measuring pipette.

Capsules

All our capsules are 100% vegan. We do not add bulk fillers, as many manufacturers do, even though this slows down the fill rate at puts up the cost. We simply do not believe in adding anything other than essential herbal ingredients.

Powders

The bowel cleansing formulas and nutritional supplements come in powder form and are meant to be blended with pure fruit juice. The dosage levels of these products preclude encapsulation.

Teas

Some products are supplied as loose herbs for making teas. These need to be soaked then decocted (simmered) as per label instructions.
